MEET THE SKIPPER'S!

What a surprisingly beautiful day the Lord gave us to celebrate the union of Shelby and Derron. Heavy rain was in the forecast for part of their wedding day. Thankfully, we were prepared for the worst, but received the best!

The day started off with Shelby and her girls jamming and prepping for the day. Shelby's bridesmaids blessed her with the most intimate and sentimental book.. a book filled with letters from impactful women throughout her life. It was a touching moment and a gift she will always cherish.

After the prep, the wedding day went right along schedule with the bridesmaid first look, father-daughter first look, and bridegroom first look. I have to say, her bridesmaids reaction to seeing her as a bride for the first time was the SWEETEST thing. They were definitely her hype women! Afterwards, Shelby and her dad had a precious daddy-daughter moment of him seeing her as a bride for the first time. There may or may not have been tears shed..

We saved the best first look for last - the one where Derron saw his 7 year girlfriend as his soon-to-be beloved wife. His reaction was simply precious. During their first look, they chose to exchange letters which made an intimate moment even more special.

After the first looks, wedding party, and family portraits, we were onto the ceremony! The Good Lord held the rain off until right before the ceremony because he knew Shelby desired naturally-lit, outdoor photos. Shelby and Derron made the decision the night before the wedding to move the ceremony and indoors and it worked out perfectly! The ceremony/reception space was covered in beautiful decor and floral. It was a boho bride's dream!

Shelby and Derron shared intimate vows, honored the Lord with communion, and had their parents lay hands and pray over them. The presence of God was tangible and it was truly a beautiful form of worship. (It was personally one of my favorite parts of their wedding day!)

They sealed their vows with a kiss and the party commenced!

It was an absolute joy being a part of Shelby and Derron's wedding day. Having the privilege of documenting their long-time-love be made official in the presence of God, their family and friends will never cease to amaze me!
