A Windgate Farms Spring Wedding

Raegan and Lee tied the knot on a gorgeous Alabama spring Saturday. It was sunny and warm with a swift breeze. It really could not have been more perfect. They started the day getting ready in the bridal suite and groomsmen cabin with their closest friends and family. The bridal suite at Windgate Farms is stunning and elegant which, in my opinion, enhances the wedding day feels! After checking in with the ladies, it was time to photograph details. I loved the simplicity and intentionality of Raegan and Lee's details. My favorite aspect of their details were the three beautiful rings they gifted each of their young daughters. Raegan also gifted her groom custom cuff links and a timeless Bulova watch for him to wear on their special day.

One of my favorite parts of a wedding day is getting to know the wedding party. On this day, I was blessed to already know these wonderful people! I grew up in the same hometown as this crew, so taking it back to my roots and photographing friends was so special! I have to admit, the wedding party portraits were not all smooth sailing... One of the groomsmen's pants ripped. Yep, that's right. And it wasn't just a slight tear. We are talking a solid 8 inch rip.

But what fun is it to not share these memorable moments?

This truly was one of the most memorable weddings I have been a part of (and not just because the groomsman's pants ripped - lol). Raegan and Lee's lighthearted personalities made for an enjoyable and sentimental day! Raegan chose to do two first-looks: one with her dad and one with Lee. I have to say, there is something so special about the first time a father sees his daughter as a beautiful bride. Raegan's dad had the purest, authentic reaction to seeing his baby girl as a bride. There is also so intimate about the groom seeing his bride in private with pure emotion during a first look. As a wedding photographer, it is always an honor to be a part of such an intimate moment.
