Addison & JT

I met this beautiful couple in the Spring of 2021 after they booked an engagement session with me. We had so much fun at their engagement session at Oak Mountain State Park. I even remember almost being attacked by a goose. LOL

Fast forward to later 2021, Addison reaches out to book me for her beautiful fall wedding at Burns Bluffs. I was stoked for many reasons!

First, I already had a good idea of Addison & JT's relationship. They are simply the kind of couples I love to photograph. They are lighthearted, genuine, fun, connected, and expressive. Needless to say, I was so excited to capture their wedding day.

Second, Burns Bluff is one of the most stunning wedding venues in Alabama. The cliffs, fall foliage, and ceremony site were a few things I was most excited about!

The Big Day

November 5, 2022, Addison & JT finally tied the knot! Leading up to their wedding day, the weather forecasted an 89% chance of rain. That is not exactly the forecast anyone would hope for. Despite the weather, Addison & JT were adaptable, calm, and joyful to soon become husband and wife!

I was prepared for an all-day rainstorm, but thankfully that was not what happened. The Lord made a way for us, in between the sprinkles of rain, to document utilize the gorgeous outdoor space to document their wedding day beautifully.

First Look

After getting ready for the day, we prioritized Addison & JT's first look and portraits while the rain was light. They chose to do their first look and vow exchange on the deck of the venue lodge. JT's reaction seeing his bride was so moving. I think we all had tears getting to witness such raw emotion and love. Just when I thought it could not get more sentimental, Addison & JT chose to exchange personal, hand-written vows to one another.

Bridegroom + Wedding Party Portraits

Thankfully, the weather cooperated enough for us to do all bridegroom and wedding party portraits outside in front of the gorgeous "charn." (That's short for chapel and barn).

Addison & JT were so flexible and carefree. They were the perfect couple to endure a rainy wedding day. Addison did not stress over getting her wedding dress dirty. It was evident they were simply so thrilled to become husband and wife that all else did not matter.

The Ceremony & Newlywed Portraits

One of my favorite parts to a wedding day is the ceremony and newlywed portraits following. Addison & JT said "I do," witnessed by close family and friends. It was a union that I was honored to document.

Immediately following the ceremony, we pulled the newlyweds away to take some newlywed portraits. There was so much joy and excitement radiating from these two as they just became one!

Lastly, to end the night, they celebrated with dancing, Taco Mama, sweet treats, and good drinks!

Cheers to the Watkins!!
